From this pdf of 2010 NDOR projects it shows a grinding/resurfacing of West Dodge from 124-176. I wonder if they'll do the same like they did to I-80 from 50th westward?

Just checked out the Geography of Nowhere by James Howard Kunstler. Another book I'd like to read is The High Cost of Free Parking by Donald Shoup.

I have Upstream Metroplolis too, but haven't read it yet. Other than that, most of my Omaha books are mainly pictures.

A few from Glacier Continuing on the railroad theme is a train exiting a short tunnel on the BNSF (former Great Northern) line on the southside of the park paralleling highway 2. The Linden Market (132nd and Dodge Hy-Vee) branch will be closing October 30th. The Oakview Hy-Vee branch will be closing in December. Neither are total surprises since there is a branch across 132nd street and Oakview Hy-Vee will be relocating.

A couple friends and myself went to the Royals game on Saturday night. I got there around 550 and there was traffic but it wasn't bad. I actually just went north on 13th to Bancroft to 10th and entered the zoo lot from the north with no problems. There were lots of open spots at that time.

I don't remember the exact details but about 30 miles east of Council Bluffs, 32 east of Omaha, there is a sign that says Des Moines is 86 miles away. I heard from someone who heard from someone that a Holiday Inn Express is going in and that the same guy who developed the Holiday Inn Express at the Irvington exit off 680 is the developer. I don't know at all if that's true but just thought I'd throw that out.
