I do have a request that shouldn't be to difficult. Can you take some shots from the east side of this lot from about 14 floors up? So we can see the view from the penthouse.
And can that drone get to 300 feet?

Too bad they had to close the sidewalk along 10th. Just makes it clunky for people walking from the Hilton.

Will the hotel's rooftop pool be indoors? I assume it will be for Winter.

The rooftop pool at least from all the diagrams was on the backside above the building"/ roof not the 14th floor's roof. JIC anyone got the impression it was on the top-top. As far as a winter co very good question, didn't appear to have any sort of framing for any.

From my view on 480, the parking lot is completely gone. It's going to look impressive driving by on the interstate.

Sounds like Des Moines is still struggling a ton with getting their convention hotel off the ground. Now it sounds like the final design may only end up being 8 stories similar to Hilton Omaha, but with a lot less rooms (only 330 instead of the Hilton's 600)

I would take 4 to 6 less floors on our Marriott if we could get a 17 and a 32 story high-rise. I guess we got the 17 covered with HDR's 18 to 20 coming but 32 floors, TOTS JEALY!

Doesn't sound like their 32-story is a done deal yet. I will take the 14 story Marriott, 12 story apt building and 18-20 story HDR HQ building, knowing that they should all get built and we won't have the heartbreak of another Wallstreet tower.

Has anyone seen a picture of the 17 story Des Moines proposal? I couldn't seem to find anything. Which tells me its very early on in the process.

I agree completely. Here in Omaha, we know these will be built.. And they will be excellent additions to downtown/North Downtown. This is an exciting time to live in Omaha...

Haven't locked down any vantage point I may just go up in Omaha Park 8 (or 9 I forgot) to get some better shots later in the season. So far mostly playing in the dirt.

Or at least go stick your camera through those holes in the barrier so you get that stupid fence out of the way... :;):

I realize that the hotel and apartment section is going to be built first, but isn't that smaller parking lot to the north, just right under the interstate, supposed to be included in this project?

I think that's where the parking structure will go. Probably a much shorter construction timeline on that, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're using it for contractor parking or material staging, as Louie suggests, for the time being...

You'll see some buried throughout this thread. It honestly won't have much impact, except for making the skyline look fuller. If viewed from Abbott Drive, it will fill in the space between the CLink and 1200 Landmark Center.

My uncle is a crane operator and has worked on the Buffett Center. He said his next project he's working on is the hotel in the Capitol District. Maybe I can get information about it from him when he starts working on it.

The Capitol district is a highlight of Omaha. Shamrock is a major developer in Omaha. This is a huge project. So why the heck cant they keep the weeds down along Capitol ave?? As soon as they started building, who ever took care of the trees and grass stopped. It looks like |expletive|.

I think they have been getting the dirt from "The Coal Yard" area north of Nicholas by The Mastercraft. Random useless info of the day.
