There is a 4 floor elevator shaft up here with Boyd Jones Construction and Alley Poyner signs up on the fence surrounding it. Anyone know what this project is?

Maybe it was 27th and Q? It was across the street and maybe a block east of the library. I don't remember exactly which corner it sat on.

EDIT: Found it, Stephen Center Expansion

The whole block between 27th and 28th is owned by the Steven Center.

The google street view shows the old buildings that were torn down. South Omaha is actually becoming a much more attractive looking area around MCC, a bunch of new buildings and infrastructure is doing a lot to make the area look a lot cleaner.

A grand opening ceremony for the new $12 million Stephen Center homeless shelter has been set for this week.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Friday for the center, which includes the Pettigrew Emergency Shelter for short-term stays and 62 low-income apartments for long-term residents.

Architects started developing plans nine years ago for the new facility that was financed by both private and public organizations.

Looks good. I saw a story on the news about it and it sounds like it is a much needed resource to have everything all under one roof instead of individual houses.
