If you have them on your computer just attach them to a post, they may be too large which you would then have to reduce their size.jag42 wrote:I took some intersting pics of the demolition today...how the heck do I get them on here...I have them uploaded to Flikr. For photos that are on Flickr:
Look at the photo you want to share here
Near the bottom Right of the photos view page there is an Icon with an arrow that points up and to the right
Click on the arrow
Select BBcode
Select a size ( usually one of the MEDIUM options will work best here.
Copy the code in the box above the size slected.
Past that into a message draft here. You can do more than one and it is good to add a couple spaces in your post between them
Let me know if that is not clear and I will try and add some more info.

Thanx for the help...I plan on going every so often, like when Rosenblatt Stadium was being demolished. It will be an odd sight once they start tearing into the actual arena!

No problem. If you try and do more and it is not clear leg em know with a post or a PM and I will see what I can do to clear it up. It is easy from Flickr once you have done it but it is not well explained.

Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
This summer I visited Salt Lake City. Downtown there is a mall called Creek Center that occupies the block south of the mormon headquarters. It has two buildings, one is a Nordstrom and a Marriott, the other is full os smaller stores such as HM, GAP, Apple... In the middle there is a well landscapped open space. It also has underground parking and the street on the east side it is only for buses, as a DT transfer point.
When I was there I just wanted to have superpowers and transfer that whole block to the Civic Auditorium.

We already have 2 dieing malls. I don't think we really need another mall right now.mistergutierrez wrote:This summer I visited Salt Lake City. Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
I think if we has those type of stores in that area, they'd do quite well. We do have a couple of dying malls in the area but they have |expletive| stores in them. Who the heck needs another Journey's, Spencer's Gifts or Foot Locker, although I have to say the Gap is kind of worn out too. And I am assuming you are referencing an out-door type mall as well.mistergutierrez wrote:This summer I visited Salt Lake City. Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
I agree with you, we don´t need another mall right now, because Omaha already built them in the suburbs. However I don´t think that having a dying DT was part of the argument when they build Crossroads, Oakview...PotatoeEatsFish wrote:We already have 2 dieing malls. My point is that this kind of mall would have benefited the DT, people could live downtown and shop downtown... I´d like to see a more dense city center; to lure people to live DT, they need to have the services they need also in DT, including shopping. Right now DT lacks plenty of services, so it only mostly attracts temporarily college students and young professionals.
Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
I've been here, very cool set up with the creek going through the mall. Would no doubt be great downtown, we just don't have an entire religion willing to bankroll it (for better or worse).mistergutierrez wrote:This summer I visited Salt Lake City. Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
I wasn't sure what to expect as far as a timeframe, but man....once they finally started demolition, they seem to really be getting through it quickly?
Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
Yeah demos always surprise me how fast they go once they start.

I remember reading that it will be all gone by Christmas. Shouldn't be too long until they are tearing into the actual arena I would think.

Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
When the demolition of a structure takes place, such as that of the Civic, does anyone know the fate of the materials, such as the bricks, concrete, and metals? Do they sort through the material and then reuse it? Insight would be helpful.
Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
All of the debris is sorted out. Metals have been hauled away in one truck, and the rest of the debris in other trucks. Not sure where it is going, but I would think the metals are going to some recycling facility.ShaneofCal wrote:When the demolition of a structure takes place, such as that of the Civic, does anyone know the fate of the materials, such as the bricks, concrete, and metals? Always a business-oriented city hungry for growth and focused on development with laser intensity, Omaha aimed high, reached for momentum and found critical mass.
Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
If anyone is interested in heading down there, they have begun tearing into the south side of the Civic, and the inside is visible...I took some pictures and will try to post then later today.

Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
If you go up on the parking garage, you can see the seats in the auditorium.
Re: Tetrad Development (Civic Auditorium)
Might run up there after work tomorrow if I am up to it. Looks pretty cool from the courtyard in front of the federal courthouse too.choke wrote:If you go up on the parking garage, you can see the seats in the auditorium.

Choke:. That would be interesting to see! Kinda surprised the seats weren't already taken out though.

I think the seats are still there. I would have thought they would have removed them also. Just be aware if you go to the 4th floor of the garage; it reeks like urine in the stairwell.

And that 20th street ramp should dump onto Chicago adding two more blocks for this development.

Is that the city's plan?MTO wrote:And that 20th street ramp should dump onto Chicago adding two more blocks for this development.
And I have to ask about the red building southwest of The Civic. Are there any plans in the pipe for it, which don't include a wrecking ball?
