Heavy Brewing (Gretna)

Post by Brad »

Sorry I don't have any details, but I was told by someone within the Local Brewery Industry that there was a new brewery opening in Gretna, NE.

I'll try to get more info soon.

I believe it's called Heavy Brewing and is located in the industrial area across from Spikers.

Heavy Brewing posted a photo of the plumbing for the brewery going in. The brewery equipment started in late April.

Another local brewery to add to the list and check out..

Omaha is becoming quite the craft beer city/metropolitan area. The offerings now, compared to 2015 are stunning…

We went there on Saturday afternoon. It was slow when we went. So, we got to talk to the owners and staff. All very nice. The beers were good. I really enjoyed the Peanut Butter Stout and the PB Stout combined with an ale that had cinnamon notes.

I would recommend. Didn't try the food. Need to do that next time.

The current beers are listed on their web site. As I understand, the list will be growing.

Happened to be passing through Gretna to day so I thought I would swing in and get something to go. The place is HUGE! However they don't sell anything to go right now so I didn't get to try any beer. I'll need to stop out when I have more time to sit and enjoy a couple.

Let me know if you are going. Haven't been there yet and might meet you if it works

I stopped in here last week for the first time. Huge place inside. Don't let the parking lot being full intimidate you. They definitely have more seating then parking. They serve hot food too. It's mostly appetizers and pizza. The pizza is good. There's a decent selection of beers as you would expect from a brewery's tasting room. Owner was on hand and chatted me up for a while. It's nice to go to a brewery and find the guy making the beer so accessible. Check it out when you get the chance.

Names are quirky, but the Food and Drink are both solid

Sarah Baker Hansen wrote:The pizza at Gretna’s Heavy Brewing, which opened last November, could be throwaway, or boring, or not that tasty. But here’s the good news, beer lovers: it’s none of those things. The super casual brewery, located in an industrial area that’s certainly off the beaten path, has already found its fan base, if the crowds during my two recent visits were any indication.
